The World Refugee Day 2023: let’s talk about culture and migration

Teatro Magro collaborates with progetto SPRAR Enea – SAI to spread news on the relevance of the cultural work with migrants.

On Monday the 19th June 2023 Cinema del Carbone hosted a World Refugee Day preview, an event split in two moments, the first of which an afternoon public meeting with Roholla Borhani, an Afghan citizen that came to Italy at the age of 14 and that talked about his perilous journey across many border and hostile countries. The second part of the event was the evening staging of “Évolué”, a theatre performance by Samuel Hili and Teatro Magro, and of an excerpt of “Harmattan” by Ide Maman, along with an informal chat with Flavio Cortellazzi from Teatro Magro and Marta Battioni from SPRAR Enea.

The event saw the interested participation of the local citizenship, who asked questions to Roholla and listened attentively both evening performances. Another proof that the migrant topic is never solved and always needs to be discussed again and again
